THE COMMONWEALTH HEADS OF GOVERNMENT MEETING   - SRI LANKA 2013

It has today been drawn to our attention that the Sri Lankan government has launched an unprecedented attack on Channel 4, Channel 4 News and the series of investigative documentaries which has now culminated in the feature documentary No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka
It appears that all journalists arriving at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Sri Lanka from the 15th November will be given a 222 page book called “Corrupted Journalism” possibly even as part of the press pack. We have not yet had sight of the book, but have in the past been subjected to many such attacks. Indeed government supporters made over one hundred complaints to the UK's broadcasting regulatory body Ofcom. After lengthy investigations every single complaint was rejected. It was accepted we had carried out an extensive investigation, verified the authenticity of this material and subjected evidence to rigorous journalistic analysis and cross-checking. We have added this page to our website to quickly gather together a resource of accurate information to inform journalists and others on the background to the film.
